In 2007 the Club leased land in Williamson County to build a 4-H Shotgun Sports Shooting Facility.

November 2007 The site was selected. The ground work was done which included hauling in fill and leveling the area.

December 2007 The field layout was created and the area marked. Electricity was added for future use. Later that month the forms were framed to build the skeet pads and houses as well as the trap field. And within a few days the concrete was poured. W4HSSC 2007 was written while the cement was still wet.

January 2008 Construction started on the skeet houses. As you can see they are coming along nicely. We now have doors and door knobs. We also have ditches dug for the electrical lines. We have all the boxes marked for the electrical plugs, switches and lights. We have measured three areas to build covered awnings for each field.

February 2008 The Club has had a total of three work days. To date the houses are built, holes have been dug for the gate, light poles and covered awnings. The temporary trap house has been built. The skeet machines are in and wired. We have hooped the targets. All the electrical is in, the 5stand cages have been set up and the stand controller bench built. The safety fence and gate have been built between the skeet and trap field. Dirt was hauled in and spread out around the shooting pads. The trap pads were painted. We expect the facility to be 90% complete and safety orientation to begin by the end of the month.

March 1st & March 8th

10am to 4pm

Members are required to bring one parent, bring your shotgun, two boxes of ammo, shooting glasses, ear protection, ammo pouch and be prepared to purchase a round card. Please also bring your own lunch, drinks & chairs. For more information contact wc4hshotgun@yahoo.com
