New Member Expectations
Our active shooting season runs from March through the end of November. It may run longer if weather permits. We start our season in February with a mandatory safety orientation class. We will begin practicing weekly in March. Practices are currently held here in Williamson County on a private ranch. We actively practice skeet, trap and 5 stand. We consider December and January our off season. During that time we will slow down for some family get togethers. *Annual safety orientation is planned for March 1st and 8th 10am to 4pm. For more information see the important announcements page or contact wc4hshotgun@yahoo.com
Club guns are available on an as needed basis, shooters must provide their own ammunition and round cards must be purchased to cover target fees. Club membership & annual Club safety orientation are required to shoot on the private range. New visitors are encourage to come out and watch before becoming a member.
Range rules and liability forms must be signed both by the member and parent during during orientation. Please be aware that parents are responsible for their children at all times. We do not encourage drop offs at practice. Younger and new shooters must have an adult with them at all times.
There are numerous competitions held through out the state. Competition is not required. Participation in competition is a personal decision between the parent and shooter. Many members choose to represent our County in the State 4-H Shooting Sports Games held annually in San Antonio, Texas in July.
Our program has monthly meetings held on the first Thursday of the month at the County Extension Office located at 3151 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown, Texas at 7pm. Participation in monthly meetings is required to be eligible to practice.
**Lastly, and most importantly, our club is not just a shooting club. We emphasize the whole person, and all the things that are valued by 4-H. Much of what the kids learn is not about shooting, although they will learn a lot about shotgun sports. We strictly discourage the use of foul language, horse playing, teasing, or disrespectful behavior of any kind.
We welcome you to the Williamson County Skeeters, and all the fun times that we share as a club family!
